Abigail Baum is a Senior Associate on the Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she works on evaluating Health Impact Assessments (HIA), and supporting the integration of health into decision-making of various social sectors. Currently she is conducting a HIA on federal policy, and projects on community investment, climate change, and scaling health considerations. Before joining the Health Impact Project, Baum served as a research associate at the Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where her research focused on measuring community health and sustainability, and the intersection of housing, community, and health. She worked on the national assessment of Native American housing, building evaluation capacity for nonprofits, and evaluating supportive housing projects. She holds a MPH and MSW from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA from Carleton College.
