As Executive CRA Officer of Valley National Bank, Ms. Mueller is responsible for the strategic oversight and administration of Valley’s CRA and community development programs, particularly services to low and moderate-income communities within Valley’s footprint. She works with Valley’s Board CRA Committee and CRA Advisory Board to lead the Bank in furthering its mission to serve low and moderate-income families and individuals through financial literacy, housing and economic development activities. Ms. Mueller currently leads the business that invests in communities to create sustainable neighborhoods. She oversees all aspects of the Community Reinvestment Act and compliance-related activities. Her overarching responsibilities include the planning and execution of philanthropic support and community development initiatives, that fulfill the Bank’s promise to its communities to be a responsible corporate citizen; making a concerted effort to assist its communities through financial and employee involvement in social, charitable, religious and service organizations. Ms. Mueller works continuously to maintain a culture that embraces the Bank’s corporate social responsibility in its mission
Ms. Mueller has over 30 years of experience in several banking business segments including Corporate, Community, Not-For-Profit and Consumer Lending, as well as, Private Banking, Sales, Retail Bank Management, Credit Operations, Marketing and Cash Management. Ms. Mueller’s well rounded financial services and lending background allow her to contribute and leverage insightful best practices in serving low and moderate-income families, small businesses and economic development activities, thereby helping Valley to meet and exceed its CRA and lending goals.
Ms. Muller demonstrates responsible leadership, encouraging a culture that embraces corporate social responsibility at Valley. She serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Mortgage Coalition and Junior Achievement of New Jersey’s North Board and serves as Valley’s member representative of The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) Community Banker’s Collaborative Council. She is the past Chairman of the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, and a past Board Director of Wayne Counseling and Family Services. Ms. Mueller has also been affiliated with other various business initiatives and civic organizations such as Commerce and Industry, Morris County Chamber of Commerce and William Paterson University. In March 2011, Ms. Mueller was recognized as an honoree in the Financial Services category for the Garden State Woman of the Year.
Ms. Mueller is a graduate of New York University and State University of Buffalo’s Advanced Credit and Risk Management Program. She is a member of the American Bankers Association and the New Jersey Banker’s Association.
