Bill Good grew up in the Central Ward of Newark, a caring community that helped to shape his life and where he found his passion to advocate for social justice. When his neighborhood began to change Mr. Good formed a tenant’s organization, the Douglas Harrison Tenants Organization and was elected president. Mr. Good’s civic contributions continued; he was elected the Central Ward District leader, became a Newark School Board member, served as Mayor’s Aide and Director of Yardville Correctional Center Abuse Program.
Mr Good was the first New Jersey resident elected to the National Alliance of HUD Tenants Board. He also became the Tenant Organizer for the Greater Newark HUD Tenants Coalition, a position he has held for 20 years. Mr Good is a dedicated defender of people’s rights for dignity and justice and advocate housing that is affordable, safe and secure. Mr. Good is also an avid musician and videographer.
